Thomas Smith

Thomas Smith is the founder and editor of Green Mermaid Review. A Bay Area journalist, editor and news photographer, he is also Editor in Chief of the Bay Area Telegraph, where he covers restaurant openings and closures, retail and local business news across the East Bay and San Francisco.

His photographs routinely appear in publications including The New York Times, Food & Wine and Condé Nast Traveler, and his writing has appeared in Fast Company, IEEE Spectrum, SFGate, The Bold Italic and more. He is co-founder and CEO of Gado Images, a social enterprise that digitizes and licenses historical photo archives. Smith holds a degree in cognitive science and anthropology from Johns Hopkins University.
